Software - Final Tips
Here are a few tips just to get your HTPC performing at its best. This will be updated with additional tips.
No More Boot Time
If you want your HTPC to boot instantly like a standalone DVD player, then do the following under Vista:
1) Enter the Power options from Control panel
2) Set: "When I press the power button: Sleep"
3) Set: "Don't require a password"
Windows Vista Power Settings
Using the above settings when you press the power button on your case the HTPC will enter sleep mode, and quickly return when you press the power button to turn back on. Whatever application that was on the screen ie MediaPortal will appear back on screen!
