Hi Guys

The HTPC build comes along apace but I seem unable to get a 1:1 picture at 1080 on my Sony TV.

The Sony seems to have 3 picture settings: smart | wide | zoom

Smart seems to leave a border around the desktop/films and wide seems to produce a letterbox effect (i.e.picture fills screen left to right but not top and bottom). Finally zoom does fill the screen but loses some of the outer edges of the desktop and in KMplayer places the controls off screen.

Any ideas onthe correct combo of TV settings needed to properly fill the screen at a 1:1 ratio?

Cheers

Mark

I think you should have it on wide. To fill the screen you need to change the resolution on the HTPC.
How have you plugged it into the telly, RGb or HDMI?

Hi Adam

The HTPC is plugged into the TV via a DVI-HDMI cable and is set to 1920x1080 resolution

Wide setting on other inputs (freeview recorder via rgb scart for example or xbox 360 via componet) both fill the panel.

You need to look for the setting "Full Pixel" in the TV settings under "Display Area" I think.
