Power Saving

Whilst I am not necessary convinced in the argument of global warming, I accept that there is weather change at the moment.

I also accept the with the cost of energy rising, we can ll be sensible to manage our use more efficiently

As such I have just ordered two of these: IntelliPanel Energy Saver 8 Way with IR Standby Saver for TV/AV by OneClick Technologies

Setting up is relatively straight forward, but they only work if something is plugged into the main socket, so I used my plasma screen and the AV amp on the other.

Teaching the unit to recognise the infer red commands is easy, so one is commanded by the TV power, the other is commanded by the Denon amp. The infra red eyes also have a manual override button, pressing once will either switch the units on or off. I just need to tweak the programming of my remote control.

But now all my electronics within the AV cupboard (except the HTPC) rare now switched off totally when out of use, i.e. night time and during the working day.

This can only help me to save power and money!

Adrian

In order to help to recover the global problem of power shortage we can also give our helping hands such as

1.Turn off the monitor when you didnt need it and let the process goes on.
2.Make use of less voltage speakers.
3.Make use of Amplifiers for power control.
etc.
With the above listed steps we can also support to saving of power.
