I did briefly check through the graphedit stuff but didn't have time to pursue it. Would there be a difference between the codec's that mediaplayer is using and mediaportal? If so then that could be the problem.

In the meantime however I have started from scratch and installed Vista Home Premium as realised I can get a month free without activating. Installed vista then the CCCP codecs and applied the mkv registry entries and my HD movies play fine without any stuttering at all. This is in 720p and 1080i. Cant say I am a huge fan of MCE interface but hey it works. The MCE remote works a treat too.

Going to tinker with tweaks and customizing MCE now to see if I can make it more like media portal. If I can then I will pay the cash for Vista if not then I may go back to see if I can get media portal to play ball.

ok, at least you have it working for the moment.

I will be uploading a new project up soon which has a simple method of getting all your files to play using MediaPortal, so watch this space, as it should work better for you. :)

Smart looking build chrimbo, sort of makes me wish I went for the Antec case.

I really fancy a glass stand but isn't it a nightmare to keep clean?

I ask that cos i am the chief cook and bottlewasher in my abode and I hate maintenance.

I need to get round to silencing the cooling too, so be interested to hear what you use.
